Meet the teacher

Mrs. Masiello is in her 11th year of teaching music at  Mountain Shadows.  Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Masiello played oboe professionally in many music groups throughout the United States - from New York City Broadway Shows to orchestras in Michigan and Arizona. She still plays her oboe and teaches many talented high school students. She believes that all students are musical and can feel a sense of accomplishment no matter what they try - singing, moving, or playing an instrument.  Mrs. Masiello is married to a clarinetist who teaches band in the Scottsdale School District and has two children; a daughter who plays the French horn and a son, who is a sophomore at the University of Arizona and continues to fiddle with his violin even though he is studying engineering.  I teach music to all first through sixth grade students and Chorus to 4th - 6th grade.  To know more about what we do in the music room, go to my classwork page.
